TERMS AND CONDITIONS Tokenization AND DIGITAL WALLET

These terms and conditions govern the use when linking a Credit/Debit/Prepaid Card hereinafter «Digitized Card», of METROBANK, S.A., hereinafter «METROBANK», in digital wallets of Metrobank cardholders of the brands Visa International and MasterCard Worldwide, hereinafter «The Authorized Brands»
A «Digital Wallet» is a contactless payment solution that allows payments to be made easily, quickly and securely, once the card is linked to the digital wallet, it can be used instead of the physical card, at any payment terminal that has a contactless system. The Digital Wallet is not owned by Metrobank. Metrobank’s obligation with respect to the functionality of the Digital Wallet is limited to securely delivering the information, allowing the use of the user’s digitized Card on the device, hereinafter the «User» or «Cardholder»; it is also not responsible for the use, functionality or availability of the Digital Wallet or Device where it is hosted, the availability of compatible contactless readers at different points of sale, or a reduced level of service as a result of the failure in communication by third parties and network providers.
In addition to these terms and conditions, the User must accept the terms and conditions of the Digital Wallets that apply.
FIRST: Acceptance of the tokenization service:
The «Tokenization» process consists of replacing the card’s sensitive data (card number, expiration date and verification value code) with a unique digital identifier or cryptogram called a «Token». By selecting the option to add to Google Wallet or add to Apple Wallet, the User expressly authorizes Metrobank to proceed with the tokenization of the card. The User can link and delete a digitized Card from the Digital Wallet from their mobile device. The process of linking a card allows you to link and incorporate a physical card into the digital wallet. Therefore, the use of the «Digitized Card» in the digital wallet has the same powers and conditions as the physical card.
SECOND: Security and obligations of the User.
The User will be solely responsible for all operations carried out with the Digital Wallet, and may not ignore in any case the transactions that are attributed to the aforementioned Digital Wallet.
For the purposes of using the digital wallet, Users should consider that anyone who can unlock the device will be able to make transactions using the Digitized Cards in the digital wallet.
The User who links a Metrobank Digitized Card to the account registered in the Digital Wallet on any Device, will be responsible for ensuring that:
- That only the User’s credentials may be registered on their device, who must be the owner of the digitized Card.
- That the User ‘s Digital Wallet is not shared with third parties and is only used by the Metrobank Cardholder.
- Safeguard your secret code or mobile device access mechanism with the same diligence with which you safeguard your Metrobank access codes.
- Do not keep a record of the keys inside the device or any other trusted element that may be subject to theft or theft.
- Reset the device to factory format after removing all card linkages before disposing of it. In cases where the credentials of a third party are registered on the User’s device, whether the cardholder is the cardholder or the additional cardholder, they must ensure that these credentials are removed. At any time, the User, whether the cardholder is the cardholder or the additional cardholder, may delete or suspend the cardholder and additional card, respectively, from the Digital Wallet functionality.
- The User must immediately notify Metrobank at 204-9030, if his/her device or physical card is lost or has been stolen and/or stolen. Metrobank may request from the Cardholder a copy of the report filed with the competent authorities, in cases of THEFT, THEFT OR LOSS of the device or cards, if it suspects that there has been a security attack in relation to the device or in the digital wallet, or if an unauthorized third party has used its code and/or secret key, or any other credential to access your Digital Wallet. Once the notice has been received, Metrobank will proceed with the suspension of the «Digitized Card».
THIRD: Commissions or Charges.
Metrobank will not charge the User commissions or charges for linking, removing or adding the card to the Digital Wallet, without prejudice to the fact that the User will be responsible for any charge or expense that arises as a result of the daily use of the Digital Wallet, such as the use of mobile data associated with their telephone company.
FOURTH: Suspension and termination of the tokenization service.
Metrobank may block, suspend or terminate the linking of the User’s digitized Card to the Digital Wallet in the following cases:
- If Metrobank suspects fraud, either as a result of the use of the card or the device;
- If the User’s card is blocked;
- If the User’s card is in arrears
- For any other reason that Metrobank deems appropriate.
- If Metrobank is instructed by authorized brands, for suspicion of fraud;
- If Metrobank’s agreements with the Digital Wallet provider are terminated or suspended.
FIFTH: Information and Privacy and Data Protection
Metrobank and Authorized Brands may store device-related information (including application version, model and device, operating system, and security information, such as PIN, OTP/token, and device credentials (password, Face ID, Touch ID), including where the information is obtained through remote access) for the following purposes:
- To ensure that the User’s digitized Card functions properly in the Digital Wallet.
- For security and fraud identification purposes.
- So that Metrobank can make improvements to the service.
- In addition, Metrobank, the authorized brands and the Processor, is the intermediary that processes credit and debit card transactions when customers make online payments, in order to provide this service, they may exchange information to allow the use of the digitized Card with the Digital Wallet and to improve its service; Information about individuals involved in a security breach or fraud.
- Data related to the card number and sensitive data are not stored in the Digital Wallet, but data is stored in an encrypted, secure form and with an identifier other than the card number. This information is what is transferred to the electronic device enabled by wireless communication.
SIXTH: Modifications to these terms and conditions.
Metrobank may modify these terms and conditions, as well as any information related to the use of the Digital Wallet service, at any time in cases where necessary, in order to improve the service.
